Alberto won an injunction to maintain his bodyguards but his future - and that of his family - remains uncertain. He had asked for help from Mexico's federal mechanism for the protection of journalists after surviving a previous assassination attempt 13 months earlier, and he continued to suffer a spate of other attacks in the meantime.
